Pharmacists based in GP practices

Many GP surgeries in Britain already work closely with pharmacists and in some instances pharmacists work within General Practice teams.

Their role in the GP surgery is to help patients resolve problems they may be having with their medicines, in particular those with long-term conditions such as asthma, and those who may be on lots of different medicines. This frees up the GP’s time meaning they can spend more time with patients and see more patients in a day than they’re currently able to.
