Academic pharmacists

Not all pharmacists work directly with patients. Academic pharmacists work in universities training the pharmacists of tomorrow. They combine their teaching work with research into things like how patients take drugs. Pharmaceutical companies then use this research to help make their information about medicines as clear as possible to the patient. Often academic pharmacists continue to practise pharmacy part-time in the community or in hospitals.
